Interview Pair

Privacy Policy

Last updated 28th September, 2026

Interview Pair sits in the middle of a job interview, so it sees things you would not hand to an ordinary web app. This page is a plain account of what we collect, what we never keep, and who else touches it.

Who we are

Interview Pair is operated by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].

What we collect

  • Your account. Name, email address and a hashed password. We never store the password itself.
  • What you give us to prepare. The CVs you upload and the job descriptions you save. These exist so answers can be grounded in your actual experience.
  • Your interviews. When a session ends, the desktop app saves a transcript of the questions it heard and the answers it drafted, along with how long the session ran and how many answers it produced.
  • Sign-in records. Session tokens, and for the desktop app a record of the device you approved, so it can be revoked.
  • Billing status. Your plan, whether it is active, when the period ends, and the customer reference held by our payment provider.

What we do not keep

This is the part that matters most, so it is stated separately.

  • Screenshots are not stored. When you press the screen-reading shortcut, the image is sent for analysis and discarded once the answer comes back. It is never written to our database.
  • Interview audio is not stored. During a live session the audio travels from your computer directly to Google for transcription using a short-lived token, so it does not pass through our servers at all. Where audio is sent to us for a single answer, it is discarded once that answer is returned. Only the resulting text reaches your transcript.
  • No card details. Payments are handled entirely by our payment providers. Card numbers never reach our servers.
  • No analytics, advertising trackers or third-party pixels. We do not run any, on the website or in the desktop app.

What we use it for

  • Running the service: drafting answers, tailoring them to your CV and the role, and showing your history.
  • Keeping your account secure and letting you manage the devices you signed in on.
  • Sending transactional email, such as verifying your address, confirming a sign-in, or telling you about a payment or renewal.
  • Enforcing plan limits and taking payment.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your CVs, job descriptions or transcripts to train AI models.

Who else processes it

  • Google: the AI models that draft answers, and the live transcription your computer connects to directly. Interview audio and screenshots are processed here.
  • Railway: hosting and the database. Your account, CVs, job descriptions and transcripts live here.
  • Our email provider: delivers verification and account email. It sees your email address.
  • Stripe and Paystack: take payment and hold your billing details.

Where it is stored

Our application servers and database run in the European Union. Our processors may handle data elsewhere, including the United States, under the safeguards set out in their own terms.

How long we keep it

Your account, CVs, job descriptions and transcripts are kept until you delete them or close your account. You can delete a CV, a saved job or an interview at any time from your dashboard, and it is removed from our database.

We keep the minimum record of a payment that tax and accounting rules require, even after an account closes.

Your choices

  • Delete any CV, saved job or interview transcript yourself, from your dashboard.
  • Download a transcript at any time.
  • Ask us to close your account and erase what remains, by emailing [email protected] from your account address. We action this within 30 days.
  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit and passwords are hashed. The desktop app keeps its sign-in token in your operating system’s secure credential store rather than in a plain file. No system is perfect, and we do not claim otherwise.

Age

Interview Pair is not for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will email you before it takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
